Nach Monaten des Werkelns an eality ist das Projekt nun Beta-tauglich, der Server rennt und die Netzwerk-Infrastruktur funktioniert bis auf einige Bugs sehr gut.
Nur wo bleibt die Beta? Nun, sie ist hier, nur anders als erwartet.
eality ist ein Mammutprojekt für mich, und momentan weniger konkretes Endziel einer langen Entwicklungsphase, sondern eher ein Framework für andere, kleinere Projekte. Und auch bevor ich etwas größeres damit anfange, ist es wichtig, alle Komponenten in einem kleineren Umfang gründlich zu testen.
Also habe ich mich vor einiger Zeit entschieden, das eality Chat-Framework zu verwenden, um eine Chat Webseite für eins meiner Lieblingsspiele League of Legends (kostenloses (!) online Action-/Rollen-/Strategiespiel mit stark Team fokusiertem Gameplay) zu entwickeln. Alle, die an Spielen wie Warcraft 3 (genauer: dessen DOTA-Mod) interessiert sind, sollten sich das Spiel unbedingt mal anschauen.
Das Projekt heisst Roar, befindet sich seit einigen Tage in der Beta-Phase und hat bereits einen kleinen aber treuen Benutzerkreis von LoL-Spielern. Falls ihr den Chat ausprobieren wollt, beachtet, dass dort hauptsächlich Englisch gesprochen wird. Wie bei den anderen Projekten auf dieser Seite wird die aktuellste Version von Silverlight benötigt.
Roar wird wohl für einige Zeit, zumindest bis ich alle Features implementiert und alle Bugs behoben habe, mein Hauptprojekt bleiben. In den nächsten Wochen werde ich also leider keine Zeit haben, weitere Tutorials zu schreiben.

Hi! Wollte nur sagen, dass Roar im Prinzip eine sehr coole Sache ist und auch gut aussieht!
Aber eigentlich wollte ich dir mit einem Vorschlag nahetreten und zwar, wenn man in den Chaträumen auf einen Spieler klickt, sucht er dann automatisch nur auf den Us-Servern auf LoLbase…zumindest macht er das bei mir…Kannst du da beim anklicken des Namens im Chatroom vielleicht einen Option einbauen, die es ermöglicht auszuwählen ob US oder EU Server durchsuchen?
Wäre toll.

I was reading something else about this on another blog. Interesting. Your position on it is diametrically opposed to what I read originally. I am still pondering over the opposite points of view, but I’m tipped heavily toward yours. And regardless, that’s what is so good about advanced democracy and the marketplace of ideas on-line.
Can I simply say what a reduction to find someone who truly knows what theyre speaking about on the internet. You undoubtedly know easy methods to convey a difficulty to gentle and make it important. This page seems to get a large ammount of visitors. How do you get traffic to it? It gives a nice individual spin on things. I guess having something useful or substantial to give info on is the most important thing.
